These notes have been incredibly helpful for the choreography in BODYPUMP 84! I was particularly fascinated by your description of the mini-review. After a choreography fails, many of us need a moment to cool off before we try to analyse the mistake. The mini-review is a great way to do that. It allows us to pause and come back to it later and try it out again in another context. I hope you don’t mind, but I have reproduced most of the notes in my choreography notes.
Hi Gina, I am loving your choreo notes- they are a great read. I love the way you pull from the point when the choreography starts to make it truly fly and makes the moves sound natural e.g. you are doing the hula hoop correctly. I felt like i was 1 step away from making a mistake when i had issues with my choreo. I will be saving this choreo practice for the next full inversion. Thanks for the inspiration. Jane-D
Thanks for this awesome achievement – I’ve successfully tackled the choreography from Triple Threat and personally this is my favourite of the three routines, given my love of triples. It’s so much more difficult to use in time than Soul Aerobics a SloMo as it tests so many new techniques and the core hold is much more awkward. I’ve had to completely re-train myself as a dancer and this is harder than I imagined it would be, but I’m very glad I completed an audition with it.
Sorry for coming in to this thread so late. Just got back from a dance retreat and am starting to prepare for my first re-enrolment session - Body Pump 84 2011. Thanks for sharing your notes. I'll try your plan for being confident versus learning the dances in a group, and I'll combine it with your suggestion to learn all the music in 30 days, then practice the full routines randomly. Love the idea of a smart bar for those quick transitions between songs.
Simply make a list of all the choreography that you know and have mastered - e.g. in your mind, I've just recently started learning the Notturno progression but I know the Foxtrot progression so well. Now I plan for every 2 hours of practice for 30 days, I'll introduce 2 songs - switching from one to the other every 30 minutes. 7211a4ac4a
