Hello Ltt community! In order for me to use the Nvidia RTX card from my desktop as an eGPU on my laptop, I had to install the Nvidia drivers. I thought it worked fine out of the box, but I went into the Nvidia Control Panel and noticed that my Precision laptop graphics card was showing as unknown. I can be sure that it is not my onboard graphics card as the laptop handles that just fine on its own.I've tried the following with no avail:(1) Reinstalled the Windows driver and restarted my laptop. (2) Uninstalled and reinstalled the Nvidia drivers. (3) Blocked Nvidia GPU usage with power and performance settings in Nvidia Control Panel (4) Ensure that I'm using the correct Nvidia GPU. I've tried every combination that I can think of and I'm at a loss. Not sure if this is related to my issue, but the Nvidia RTX laptop also had I2C errors under Nvidia Control Panel that never went away so I removed the card. While my precision laptop is running fine without it, I don't want to leave it out there messing anything up for myself. The Precision laptop is a 2019 model with 8th Gen Intel Core i7-9750H processor and Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti GPU.I've tried updating my microsoft basic display adapter with no luck as well. After I update the display adapter, it shows up in Device Manager as unknown. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
After following the steps on the link below, my laptop no longer has any connectivity with the screen attached. Is there any way to get the display to work on this system? I'm not really sure what caused this. I have a Microsoft Basic Display Adapter attached to my computer now, which shows up with Unknown in the display adapter information. d2c66b5586
