Once the vault is reached, players have a choice of three approaches. The first is to simply pluck the prize from the floor, which is a simple matter of picking it up and heading to the exit. The second is to hack the lock to open it, which will unfold the loot for the entire team. The third and most complex method is to quickly hack the lock, bypassing the fingerprint scanner entirely and unlocking the vault. The team may also opt to use their bonus activity, which is one of the following:
Flip The Coin is a rogue-like mode in which players will be led through a series of rooms and floors, each with its own set of keycard locks. The objective is simple, as soon as a keycard is picked up, the total number of cards available for the team is decreased by one. The player that picks up the last keycard wins the round, and the round is played again if nobody picked up a keycard - the team can only lose once. Each round of Flip The Coin can be won by reaching the end of a hallway, or by finding a keycard on the map. Picking up a keycard also unlocks new areas to explore, such as previously locked areas of floors, as well as bonus loot. Each keycard holds approximately ten seconds of valuable time.
Players are then given the chance to obtain their own keycard. Doing so allows for any character on the team to hack their own door, which may unlock other doors as well. Doing so will also enable the player to teleport to the location to obtain their keycard, which can also be done to unlock the secondary targets inside the vault. This will trigger the attack animation, with the player's Hacked Door becoming a target for all players in the area. Players who are currently trapped in an area due to a locked door can then teleport to the area where the door is to unlock it.
Once the vault has been accessed, the crew can find two briefcases:
The Alliance briefcase is filled with the currency that was required to unlock the vault, as well as the keys that will allow them to access the vault proper. The Alliance briefcase also contains additional currency that can be used to purchase upgrades for the player, or to boost the player's stats. The second briefcase is the Engineer's. It contains a device which allows the player to put any player on any lock, even if they are offline, which allows them to quickly unlock locked doors or safes.
After completing the Vault, Hacking can be resumed by using the terminal in Strickler's office. When the player enters a terminal, they will be prompted to remove a device from their chest. This device will be used to unlock the RICO hack codes. The player can have as many 'cycles' as they want once they have their RICO code. However, once the timer runs out, the code will change and new codes must be downloaded and entered again. So, if one code runs out during a round, simply end the round and start over.
Developer Comment: During the final two rounds, we had to adjust the difficulty due to the small amount of time we had to finish the mission. The hard mode of the vault has three more enemies than normal and does not have access to the EMP hack that can disable the enemies. 827ec27edc
